Why do people dislike fast cars, saying only immature people with something to prove buy them?

  • Why don't people understand It's a hobby to some people. And that some people really enjoy driving. I hear it especially from women how it such a waste of money. (Why do women buy overpriced clothing , handbags, deocoration ,and furniture?) And why is it considered immature to want a car that I like?


  • Because some people are more practical compared to those who have more money than sense.

    Hmm, I'm going to buy a lambo for inner city use, Yeah cause that doesn't waste money. Hmm.

    It's pointless buying a beast of a car for everyday driving you may think you look good. But its not you, Its the car.

    Plus. Your wasting the car. Yes, The person in the above comment is correct. "Crazy kids" who have no idea of the practicalitys of things

    Don't buy it if your not going to use it properly


  • What do fast cars have to do with driving in a safe and lawful manner? Nothing.
    You are obviously immature to want to drive one on the road.
    In fact, just plain stupid.
    If you want to drive a fast car, or cars fast for that matter, go take it to a race track. That is the only place you can do so legally and in relative safety for all concerned. Make that the hobby!.
    I'd bet you wouldn't even make the grade....
    If you want to prove how BIG a man you are, don't endanger everybody else doing it!
    Of COURSE it's a waste of money when safety and legality are involved.
    I can't see anything at all dangerous in a woman wanting to look nice.

  • Love fast cars - dislike most people who drive them. Most children who drive fast cars don't know how to drive them correctly and end up hurting themselves or others or ruining a nice car.

    Ferrari and some Benz models won't let you buy them without taking a special handling class. That's the way it should be. If you have a high performance car - even if you put the mods on yourself, I think you should be required to prove you can handle the car, both physically and mentally. How many people do you think would pass that test?



  • cause woman dont care what we like they only care about themselves. they rather spend that money on stuff for them instead of the car. im lucky though my wife likes fast cars. she wants a new challenger but id rather get a new camaro. i love her though.


  • Fast cars are exciting. I like them.

    One thing I don't like (and people in slow, boring cars do this all the time), is race through traffic because they are unable to manage their schedules. I know it feels good - dodging in and out of cars with your heart pumping (you know who you are), but it's stupid and meaningless. I'll just catch you at the next light.

    So basically, I like fast cars (and I want one), but I don't like people who drive fast on crowded public roads.


  • For the very same reason us men feel a 400 dollar Dooney and Burk purse for a female is a waste of money. The world is made up of all sorts of people with plenty of room for us all as long as we respect each other and each individuals wants and desires and understand that what ever it may be to a person, that persons hobbies and wants and desires are just as important as the next persons. I love fast cars and spend more than I should on them. My wife loves Donney and Burk purses. I keep my opinions about her purse collection to my self as she does my cars I have been married for 39 years. Do I know what i`m talking about?

  • Some people only buy expensive performance cars like Ferraris simply to show off without knowing how to drive well. I find that annoying. A fast car should not simply be a trophy. However, if you know how to drive well, I think it's fine to "show it off."
    In fact, even though some people think it's cool, many don't, and if you say "that's my car," they might say "cool," but not really care, since a lot of people aren't into cars. It's not considered immature to want a car that you like...well, it's a little impractical to want a Bugatti Veyron or another ultra-expensive car. Something like the '09 Cadillac CTS-V is nice, comfortable, semi-practical (four doors), and very fast also.
    So the people that say "only immature people with something to prove buy them" probably have some problem. They might just dislike cars.


  • they're just jealous. i'm 26, with a wife and daughter, and a steady career with a beater daily driver, and a very fast truck! i love that thing. am i immature, no? it's my hobby, i enjoy driving fast and aggresive. i get my rocks off that way. the wife doesn't understand it, but you do. thanks for understanding my hobby.
