UK Met Police vetting ?

Posted by webmaster under enart.hubeidaxue.com

  • hi all.

I have applied to become a Police Constable and am awaiting for my day 1 date to be confirmed.
I have a quick question about the UK Met police vetting.
What exactly does the vetting show up? I have never been arrested/cautioned/searched, etc. I was however present when someone was arrested and gave a statement. it was assumed i was his girlfriend (which i was not!). would the vetting process show that up? eg, will it say i have associated with criminals.

please help as i am worried that could effect whether i get into the police.

all help will be much appreciated!

  • no it wont show up.

  • I hope you no longer associate with them as this would be a pointless career choice.

You never know what can show up in vetting, safest passage is to ask the vetting office for advice.

The incident isn't likely to be a problem, covering it up is.

  • Vetting check the crime reporting and intel systems with your name, date of birth etc. If you are not there as a suspect or accused then you should be ok. Anyone can be a witness to anything, it shouldn't affect this. If it does then you can likely appeal it.

The biggest problem is if you panic and lie. This will completely trash your application!! If it does come up, come clean and say exactlly what happened.

  • I shouldnt think that'll show up and even if it did you're completely innocent and merely provided a statement. Its not on your record or anything.

I dont think it'll affect your chances.

    Good luck
