Few noob Q? bear with me...

  • Bought a modded xbox, soft I think, info has no chip listed...
    box Version: 1.6
    Bios is retail
    kernel: 1.0.5838.1
    xbmc: 2.0.1
    mplayer
    video encoder: xcalibur

    Qusetions are:

    **Not connecting to internet, sorta, I can ftp, weather thing doesn't work, xlink kal says no connection check DNS - right now it is set to auto, I have manually changed the ip to my routers, and my main pc, with no luck... (everything connected through router) router gives xbox an ip.

    **Cannot get xbox to connect to live, I noticed it has a live key, can I change it to mine? how?

    I see that xbmc says to update on a regular basis but the build is still listed 2.0.1 from 2006? is there a simple .iso I can burn and pop in my xbox for an auto update?

    Links to tutorials would be great, being a noob to this I don't want to F' my sorta working cool new xbox!

    Google "t3ch" to find recent builds. There's no auto updating iso, but there is an updater script available for these "t3ch" builds, but install a recent build first. http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29329

  • I would advice you to start with a clean install. So don't update the previous xbmc version you had installed, but start completely fresh. The two versions are very far apart in age and development so then glitches are bound to happen.


  • hey I downloaded and transfered all the files, (t3ch) but somehow the xbmc360 skin doesn't work well its there, just every things blank, to titles.

    Also my movies won't play now. I have all my movies on my computer, I network from xbox to my drive and play the .vob files, since the "upgrade" nothing plays, kinda like it hangs then nothing..I checked resolution sizes should work..do I need to install some kind of media player?
